3 Best Tips for Creating a Thanksgiving Table
Updated 7/28/2024
Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday of mine. It brings back so many childhood memories. So much of my upbringing was centered around family and food. There was value in bringing those you love around the table to share a meal.
Today, I’m sharing my 3 Best Tips for Creating a Thanksgiving Table. Hope these tips help inspire you when you plan your table this year.
3 Best Tips for Creating a Thanksgiving Table
Color and Shapes
When you plan any tablescape, having a color theme is a great first step. Color helps set the tone and feel. Once you have that figured out, the details come next. I always consider shapes in what I use. Square, round, etc.I like adding a little of everything so it’s not all the same. For example, used square plates and round wine glasses for this particular table. The different shapes offset each other.
Texture
In my opinion, this tip is important. It adds dimension and depth to a table. The smallest of details can add to the “wow” factor of a Thanksgiving table. A textured table runner or fringed napkins can help add elements of interest. Considering this tip when selecting items to put together a look can be helpful when planning.
Earth Elements
Bring a bit of the outdoors IN—elements like stems, acorns, or pumpkins. Even super cute leaf coasters are a simple way to add “earth”.
EXTRA TIP: Adding “fire” elements. Using candles can instantly make a table feel cozy and warm. If you don’t want any of the wax mess, use battery-operated candles.
If you are looking for something to serve up in that wine glass, try this Autumn Sangria!
