7 Parenting Tips

Parenting. Not for the faint of heart. An incredible journey of highs and lows. Never really knowing if you are doing it all right. Had the opportunity to learn 7 tips from parenting coach (and best selling author) Randi Rubenstein.

Transitioning from a FULL TIME stay at home mom (almost a decade) to a mom trying to grow a business from home has had its difficulties. It’s been an adjustment for everyone in my family. I scheduled a private parenting workshop, with Randi, to learn more ways on how I can be a better parent. Randi is SO down to earth. She comes from an incredible place of love and has made it her life dedication to help parents be the best parents they can be. She offers tools to use so that parents can confidently go home and apply them in their own way. Not her way. Love how she respects that each family is different.

7 Tips from a Parenting Coach:

1) Model Behaviour– Children will look to you as a model for their own behavior. Be sure what they are watching is positive.

2) Creating Roots– Important you create solid roots so your children will continue to circle back as they grow. Make them a priority, listen to them and love them.

3)Retraining your brain– Persepective is everything. Even in negative situations look for the positive. Speak words of positivity into your children. Words are powerful. Words shape their belief system. Important that you build a strong self worth in a child.

4) You are human– You will make mistakes but you also will need to own up to them.This will teach your children they will need to own up to their life choices as well.

5) Structure– Children thrive on structure. Create a schedule and delegate appropriate chores. Let kids feel part of the team.

6) Every child is different– Each having their own specific talents and gifts. Parenting needs to adjust to each one’s needs.

7) Life is short–Have fun and follow your instincts when it comes to parenting. Lead with a gentle and loving heart.
