Essential Photography Equipment for Creators

I often get asked about the photography equipment I use. Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite items that help me create content for my business.
The Photography Equipment
- Camera- I recently upgraded my Canon 60d to the Canon 80d. Love that the Canon 80d has built in WiFi. This helps to send pictures to my phone directly and I also use the WiFi for self portraits as well. The flip out touch screen was another feature that caught my attention. The flip out screen is perfect for when you need to make videos. You can see yourself as you record. Which helps with making adjustments as you record.

These are the lenses I have been using the last couple of years
2. Lighting- My preferred source of light is ALWAYS natural light. But when natural light is not an option, I get a little help from my artificial light friends ;). I use the below two sets to help create a brighter image. These soft box lights I use the most often.

And this umbrella light set.

3. Light Reflectors– These are my favorite to use when you need light to reflect a certain way on your subject or object you are photographing.

4. Tripod- I own two tripods. One that I take with me for shoots and one that I take when I travel. Each one helps to get a stable shot and helps to get self portraits (remember my camera has wifi ).

5. Photography Props- This is when you can you be unique and creative. I use all sorts of props to help create images. Props like linen kitchen towels, foam boards, marble contact paper, furry rug, faux flowers and the list goes on..
