avid Hotels For The Everyday Traveler

Hi friends! I usually write and share hotels that I travel to as destinations or resorts. But there are times when I travel on my own or for work. That’s when I look for accommodations that won’t break the bank and help me stay on track with my business budget.
Today I wanted to share a hotel that is perfect for solo or business travelers. It has all the essentials that you’re looking for when you travel at a price that makes sense and won’t hurt your wallet.
So let’s chat about why avid Hotels are ideal for the everyday traveler.

What type of hotel is avid?
The hotel came onto the scene in 2017. These hotels were meant to shake things up a bit in the hotel industry. How do you ask? Well, there was a big need for the everyday traveler. It was either you had to stay in a nicer hotel or you saved money by staying at an inexpensive hotel/motel. If you ever had to do that, you know first hand how that experience can be. I have stayed at places, in the past, that I couldn’t wait to leave, just to save a few dollars. I don’t recommend that sort of travel.
avid Hotels wanted to enter the hotel landscape and be the solution for the everyday traveler. They wanted to provide a travel option with fair pricing along with all the mini conveniences that people are looking for when they are away from home. Things like comfort, food/drink, fitness, and functional space.
avid Hotels were also designed to make their guests feel good during their stay. With a modern, clean, and fresh aesthetic. The main focus of the hotel’s design was to keep it simple but functional. Also to help their guests feel refreshed, energized, and inspired to take on their day.

Currently, there are 40+ locations in the United States and that number will be growing with more locations popping up throughout the United States.
What are rooms like?
So if you have been following me on social for a while there is one thing that I mention often, “the little details”. I’m a sucker for them and notice these types of details no matter where I go. And when I stayed at the avid Hotels there were a lot of details that did not go unnoticed by me.
As soon as I walked into my room, I immediately noticed the floors. NO CARPET!!! YES!!! I can’t tell you how many times I have walked into a hotel room thinking “yuck!” when I see carpet in the room. I just don’t necessarily think carpet is hygienic in high-traffic spaces that are used by many people. Especially right now with everything going on. Staying healthy is super important to me. I was SO happy to see there wasn’t any carpet in my room. That one detail alone made me feel really good about staying there.
The room was also spacious, bright, and nice. I had a work desk to use for getting work done. A mini-fridge to store my drinks and snacks. I also really liked the open storage concept for my belongings. It was nice to have an area to keep my clothing but also use to sit and get ready too. The 55’inch smart tv and full-length mirror were also great to have in the room.

Travel Essential Details
When I travel, a good night of sleep is super important. avid Hotels sure did a good job at making sure they did their best to provide a good night’s rest for their guests with high-quality mattresses and bedding. They also have two different types of pillows on the bed. Each has its own pillowcase so you know which one is which, soft or firm. I thought that was such a nice detail. To me, it just shows that they actually care about what type of pillow I use at home. Remember when I mentioned the “little details”, this was definitely one of them,
As part of their room design, they even added noise-reducing headboards. Along with blackout roller shades in each room. I usually have a hard time sleeping when I travel alone or sleep in a new bed. But I literally fell asleep at 9:30 pm and woke up energized. Ready to head to breakfast!

What is breakfast like ?
Every morning there is a complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. Breakfast items like Bananas, oranges, muffins, cereals, hot breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, breakfast bars, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs. I felt there was a little bit of everything and a good amount of healthier options too.

Other Amenities
The hotel has a fitness center that you can access 24/7. Don’t have to wait for certain times for you to get your workout in which is nice. Some places I have stayed at close their gyms at certain times.
The hotel also offers a market in the main lobby where you can purchase cold soft drinks and snacks.
You also have access to the complimentary 24/7 coffee/tea station in the main lobby as well.

You can start earning rewards with your stay too. Download the IHG Hotels & Resorts app .
Overall my feeling about the hotel is that they did an amazing job creating a hotel for the everyday traveler. Providing mini conveniences that help make your time away from home feel more comfortable.
They did all the travel essentials right. That focus definitely helps make a difference in your travels.
A stay that feels just right.
