Bye Bye 2019, Hello 2020!
2019 was definitely a year to remember. So many professional firsts and I still can’t believe that I have been blogging for 3 years! A fun little hobby turned into something more than I expected and I am forever grateful to everyone that has supported me along the way.
Although I have had some great highs this year, it did come with some lows. December was especially hard for my family since we lost my father in law on December 17th. My father in law was an absolute authentic human being. Upfront and never sugar-coated anything. We didn’t always agree on certain topics but one thing I did have for him was an incredible amount of respect for his ability to stay true to himself despite what others would think or say.
It’s a good example, to remember, to not conform to other’s opinions or views. He was also my #1 Life of Alley fan. He read all my posts and loved looking at the images I captured. He will be greatly missed by us and sad I won’t be able to have a glass of wine with him again. š
I have decided to dedicate this new year, 2020, to my father in law. I will honor him by developing better harmony/balance with work and life. Making more intention to stay connected with those I love and to continue to develop strong traditions to instill in my children.
Every year I create a vision board and also select a focus word. My word for 2020 is BREATHE.
What that means to me, is being more in the moment. Staying centered. Simplifying things as best as I can. Letting go of any hurt and pain I have held onto and just let my spirit free. Life is short and every breath is a gift, even though most of us take that for granted every day.
So, to keep me accountable, to create that harmony/balance in my life I am creating a work/health/home schedule. I will have specific work hours and will do my best to stick to it as best as I can. Right now Iām working all the time and itās just not healthy. I need to be able to turn it off and be ok with it.
I will also designate certain days of the week where I will make time to work out and give back to myself. I have gained so much weight since I started blogging which is interesting since I am in front of the camera ALL THE TIME. You would think I would be more self-conscious about it, but clearly I am not. lol. I love myself at any weight but now it’s impacting my health and I HAVE to make some changes if I want to be around for my children.
My goal is to lose 20lbs by the end of the year. Which I think is a very realistic and attainable goal for me. So you will be seeing more fitness stuff from me and healthy recipes.
I have always been a fan of fresh starts which is probably why I love Mondays so much. This new year is a clean slate. A new beginning. There is so much to celebrate in that and to be grateful to have the chance to make things better.
I hope this helps inspire you to take inventory of your life and to think of ways to better your day to day. Work is important but there is nothing more important than your health and family.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Hope 2020 will be an incredible year of transformation for your heart, spirit, and mind.
Much love always,
