Easy DIY to Freshen up your Home for Spring
WHY NOT give an item a second chance! A simple coat of paint can really get the job done with just about anything. Here’s a quick and easy DIY to freshen up your home for Spring.
Tray Facelift
This wood serving tray has definitely seen its share of life. I was going to put it in the trash but it was still in great shape and functional. I knew exactly want it needed, A FRESH COAT OF PAINT! I typically don’t like my paint projects to be too time consuming. If it’s going to be a big project I usually hire a professional, but for something like this, I do it myself. Plus, this can of paint has primer and paint in one. Easy peasy. 😉
DIY Tips
I try to always take my paint projects outdoors. I use Dollar Tree disposable table clothes since they protect surfaces and once done I can roll them up and throw them out. Tarps are alway a good option too but I do like the quick clean up with Dollar Tree table clothes. Another tip I have is to wear disposable gloves. Helps protect hands from paint and you don’t have to spend extra time washing it all off.
Let’s Paint
First, I covered my painting surface with a disposable table cloth, then put my gloves on. I quickly wiped down the tray to remove any surface dirt or grim. I gave the tray one quick pass with the paint and let it dry for a few minutes. This paint went on SUPER even and dried fast! I finished it up with another coat, let that dry, then went back through to touch up anything that I missed. That’s it! It was so simple and easy.
