Getting Spicy for Cinco De Mayo- Margarita Recipe

Who loves a good themed party? I DO!!! With May right around the corner, it’s just another easy excuse to party and celebrate. Once again, I will be making my yearly, Getting Spicy for Cinco De Mayo- Margarita Recipe! It’s super easy to make and has a nice spicy kick to it (you can control how spicy).

Cinco Time

When decorating for Cinco, I always use bright colors, sombreros, maracas, and I never forget to play festive music. My kids LOVE when I do this. It’s like they instantly get transported into a different world. My whole family ends up having such a great time. Lots of laughs and running around with sombreros and maracas. While dancing to la cucaracha.

Festive Food

With 3 kids, I keep the menu as simple as possible. I make turkey tacos, fresh guacamole, and serve chips, and salsa. Oh, and can’t forget the beans and rice. 🙂

Adult Drink

A few years back, One Hope Wine shared this recipe on their website. It looked so good and I wanted to try it. I have been making it since! If you don’t like spicy, you can modify the recipe.  But if you like a little spice in your life, this drink is AMAZING! Everything in this drink fuses so well together.

Spicy Margarita Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

-4 0z.  Sparkling Brut ( I used One Hope Brut)
-1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
-1 oz. tequila
-3 slices serrano (you can add more or add less depending on how spicy you like it. You can also use for garnish)
-3 tbs. raspberry (muddled)
-a dash of agave
-lime wedge
-salt

Directions:

In a shaker cup filled with ice: combine sparkling wine, lime juice, tequila, serrano, raspberry and agave. Shake well. Pour into a salt rimmed glass. Garnish with lime wedge and extra serrano(if you like).

ONE HOPE

If you don’t know about One Hope Wine, they are based in Napa Valley California.  They are a cause centric wine company. Every product they sell a high % of profits goes back to the non-profit cause the particular product is connected to. For example, the bottle I used, Sparkling Brut, helps provide healthy meals for hungry children. If you would like to check out any of their products or place an order click HERE.
