Tips for Tailgating with Kids
Fall is here and its a great time to enjoy the cooler temps with the family. Tailgating is a fun way to connect as a family and to also create wonderful memories together. Here are some of my tips for tailgating with kids.
Tailgating Tips
Comfortable clothing
Having the right clothing is so important. Check the weather. Be sure you know what sort of weather you may encounter. If it may rain, pack a rain jacket and rain boots. If temps are cooler then warm up as the day progresses (or vice versa) you want to wear something light weight under a sweatshirt. That way you can easily take off or put on, depending on temps.
Get them involved
Have the kids help with the planning process. When they help plan details like foods and activities, it will make it more exciting for them. Another way to get them involved is by giving them age appropriate tasks.Tailgating products that are easy for kids to use are a must in my book. Some of my favorite tailgating products are- this portable grill, folding table and chairs.
Activity
Kids get bored easily. Have activities planned out like a tailgate scavenger hunt, or corn hole game or even something simple like bringing a football. A quick and easy activity is great way to keep them entertained while you tailgate.
Easy foods
When you tailgate with kids, having a variety of options for kids is key. Food that you can easily grab and munch on are perfect. Having a combination of healthy and not so healthy options is always a good idea to ;).
Hope you find them this helpful in some way. Please share any other tips for tailgating with kids below.
