Easy Tips To Create A Classic Autumn Tablescape
Updated 7/28/2024
My favorite of all things, home, is having a special meal with loved ones. I enjoy putting together a fun tablescape and with fall right around the corner, excited to share some of my tips to create a classic autumn tablescape with all of you.

Let’s get to it!
Add Fire
If you want to give a table an instant warmth feeling and make it super inviting by adding candles. You can use traditional candles that you light or battery-operated ones that have come a long way in recent years and are equally as beautiful. I do feel the battery-operated ones are a good option for outdoors, or if you have pets or children.
Add Earth
Elements of the earth are a wonderful way to make your table look fall-ish and harvesty (is that even a word? haha). Adding certain warm tones like amber, brown, and neutrals can add to the relaxed feel of the table and room. Plus those colors mesh well together, so you won’t need to overthink what you are using for the table.
And think of different ways to add the “traditional” objects and change it up a bit. An example would be how I added the grapevine pumpkins vs the traditional orange pumpkins.
Add Texture
This I feel is so important to a tablescape. It adds depth and dimension to any fall tablescape. When looking to add pieces to your table look for character in each piece. Like the placemats, I used here. Even the simple vintage candlestick holders I used, have a bit of character to them.
Add Ice-Breakers
A great to get people talking at a table is to have little ice-breakers added to your tablescape. Here I used the salad plates with different words on them like Gather, Blessed, Thankful and Grateful. For a fun ice-breaker, I would go around the table and ask guests to give an example of each in their life. It helps get people to open up at the start of the meal.
Also, the wines I serve are another way I get everyone talking. Not many can resist the beauty of a glitter or shimmer wine bottle. Every time I place one of these bottles on a table I get asked about it. These bottles are from a wine company that does good! Proceeds from One Hope Wines go to non-profit causes. This particular brut goes to ending childhood hunger. So far One Hope Wine has provided 2,758,428 meals with proceeds from this one type of wine. Pretty awesome, right?
I hope you enjoyed these tips to create a classic autumn tablescape. And it helped inspire you in ways to put together your own classic autumn tablescape together. Keep it simple and try not to overthink things.
